Today is the first day of the 4th Pantone-Inspired Color Challenge and I am so excited! Heidi and I look forward to these bi-annual style challenges all year-long and it is always so much fun. Despite the work it takes to put it all together, I find my best inspiration from the incredible women who choose to join us. Will you be challenging yourself this week?

We’re starting off this week with the color “sangria.” Sadly, we’re not discussing the delicious beverage, but hey–I don’t see why that couldn’t be a perfect accessory to your Monday ensemble. This recipe looks ah-mazing, by the way. Anyway, I truly love this color–a quintessential fall color, if you ask me. I’m wearing sangria in this long-sleeved cotton blouse I picked up years and years ago at a LOFT outlet. It’s been worn probably too many times, but I can’t seem to get rid of it. It’s just one of those go-tos that can be thrown on at the last-minute.

This outfit is pushing me a little bit because it has a bit of a country vibe to it, which is not typically my forte. Normally I would be sporting tights under a skirt when paired with boots, but this day I went sans tights and it felt pretty liberating.

Sad story time: We have a lot of dogs in my office (no this isn’t the sad part). This means we have a lot of baby gates and obstacles to brave throughout the day. On this particular day, I was clutching a half-empty mug of Apple Cider and attempting to clear the baby gate in a skirt as gracefully as possible. Naturally, my boot caught the top of the gate and I went a-tumbling, skinning my knee and knocking everything over. I shot right back up with an “I’m all right!” and while no one else actually saw me fall, they certainly heard the nice crash. I don’t think I’ve had a bloody knee since I was a kid! Long story short, well…I guess I need to practice my skirt maneuvering skills ;)
